Resumen:
This pedagogical innovation project aims to promote English language learning among students in the 1st year of Compulsory Secondary Education through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates cultural awareness and the study of national and international traditions. By exploring the festivals, customs, and everyday practices of both English-speaking countries and Spain, especially Figueres, students develop not only linguistic competence (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) but also intercultural understanding. The project uses a task-based methodology, promoting active student participation through dynamic activities such as role-plays, multimedia presentations, storytelling, and Project- Based Learning. Authentic materials and real-life contexts are incorporated to increase motivation and engagement. Special attention is given to fostering inclusive and communicative classrooms where students learn to value cultural diversity while developing their English language skills.
