    Is it real? Debating and debunking

    Abstract:
    The main aim of this project is to present a proposal for a project that could be implemented to improve learning at this school. The proposal mainly entails the use of debate as a tool for, not only language learning, but also developing critical thinking and oratory. To achieve this goal, students will go through the entire process of research, source choice and forming an opinion looking at all sides of a situation. By making them reflect on their own learning, the assimilation of concepts and ideas will be improved. The expected results are a general improvement on research and critical thinking skills, as well as a more critical and sceptical approach to the information they find while using social media and the internet. There should also be a monitoring during and after the project on how students discuss the topics they find interesting, and the possibility of repeating the project in other groups and for other levels should also be considered.
