These industrial establishments have hard-to-reach areas which present risks for maintenance operators. The main objective of this project is to design a drone that can operate in these areas and design a production system optimized for it. The production rate and the release date of the initial batch were obtained by means of a market analysis. A compact and optimized drone was designed with reduced dimensions, with 360-degree sensor protection, allowing operation in tight spaces. By applying a product structure methodology, the complete drone production system was designed, specifying SOI, jigs and tools and machinery for each production step. A quality plan was designed for the production system that involved preventive and corrective actions. The design of a Mode Analysis and Effects of Process Failures validated the critical production steps.
