    Resumen:
This Final Master’s Thesis is a teaching programme for a whole academic year of the subject of First Foreign Language (English) for 3rd of Compulsory Secondary Education (CSE). It consists of ten teaching units, one of which has been described in depth. This syllabus aims to improve educational quality through active and innovative methodologies adapted to the new student’s needs, which motivate students and involve their participation in the teaching-learning process, along with facilitating the attainment of the objectives set for the educational stage in question. From the point of view of the subject of English, the purpose is to encourage pupils’ interest in language learning, since in the globalised world in which we currently live it is essential to understand, write and speak in English, as it is the lingua franca par excellence. For a complete immersion in the language, the programme will include the usage of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), which provides a wide variety of resources that allow students to have direct contact with the target language. In addition, apart from the active methodologies implemented, the syllabus includes diverse assessment instruments, which cater to the diversity of the students. The teaching staff will use rubrics, rating scales, and surveys to evaluate as well as the teachers’ diary. Furthermore, students will actively participate in their assessment through self and peer evaluation questionnaires, which will enhance their critical thinking. Another key aspect of the programme is the measures and plans to tackle diversity, as adaptations are envisaged according to the pace, abilities, and specific needs of each pupil. Ultimately, a final self-evaluation will be carried out by the students in order to propose possible educational improvements for the coming years according to the results obtained.
